Genshin Impact officially released Version 5.5 today, and Xilonen will rerun in the second phase banner. Are you Travelers planning to pull for Xilonen? Let's dive into her complete build guide!

Before diving into the guide, here's a hands-on evaluation of Xilonen:

Xilonen excels in long-duration, multi-element RES Shred with straightforward mechanics; paired with the Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City artifact set, she provides sustained off-field DMG Bonus. When the team includes two or more Hydro/Pyro/Cryo/Electro units, she delivers high single-target on-field healing (7,000+ at average investment, up to 8,000+). Her overworld utility shines-excelling at climbing and traversal, while her abilities further enhance exploration efficiency in Natlan.

However, Xilonen has drawbacks. The Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City set's DMG Bonus requires triggering reactions, limited by Geo's Crystallize mechanics. Achieving dual-element DMG Bonus is slightly harder than Kazuha's double swirl, though still feasible. For most teams, simply boosting the main DPS suffices-brain-dead easy. Only in multi-element/multi-DPS teams do you need her dual-DMG Bonus setup. Additionally, low-constellation Xilonen clashes with Gorou in Geo teams: below C2, prioritize supporting Navia/Ningguang; at C2+, she can effectively assist DEF-scaling units like Arataki Itto.

1. Xilonen Weapon Recommendations

Only 4 weapons are recommended:

Genshin Impact Xilonen Weapon Recommendations

1. Peak Patrol Song

Xilonen's signature weapon. Grants massive DEF bonus, personal DMG amplification, and teamwide DMG buffs-BiS (Best-in-Slot) for Xilonen.

2. Flute of Ezpitzal

Natlan Craftable weapon. Pure DEF-stacking stat stick, ideal when Energy cycles are stable and Xilonen only needs raw stat scaling.

3. Favonius Sword

Low base ATK but massive Energy Recharge substat. The Favonius passive (team Energy generation) shines if Xilonen has a sufficient CRIT Rate - top pick for Energy-starved teams.

4. 1. Fleuve Cendre Ferryman

Fontaine Fishing weapon. Boosts Xilonen's personal Energy regeneration, but less efficient than Favonius for both self and team Energy needs.

Other options like Cinnabar Spindle, The Festering Fang, Sacrificial Sword, or Skyward Blade are viable but suboptimal compared to the above.

2. Xilonen Artifact Recommendations

Genshin Impact The Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City Set

Xilonen's Artifacts only recommend Natlan's Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City Set. First, it perfectly synergizes with her kit; second, its DMG Bonus far surpasses other sets. Main Stats: Energy Recharge/DEF + DEF + Healing Bonus/DEF/CRIT, adjusted based on team needs and weapon choice.

Substat Priority: DEF > Energy Recharge > Others are negligible.

If using Favonius Sword: CRIT Rate > DEF > Energy Recharge (to trigger the weapon's Energy particle effect).

3. Xilonen Talent Priority

Core Skill: Prioritize maxing her Elemental Skill (crown it if possible).

Secondary Priority: Level her Elemental Burst (healing activates with 2+ Hydro/Pyro/Cryo/Electro teammates). While skipping levels is viable if healing suffices, maxing is still advised.

Lowest Priority: Normal Attack is useless for support builds. Only level for meme on-field DPS builds.

4. Xilonen Constellation Recommendations

Only C0 and C2 constellations are recommended.

C0 provides fully functional mechanics and offers the best value for resin.

C2 Xilonen boosts team DMG by 15%-20%. Notably for Electro teams: Yae Miko's Energy issues vanish, Keqing gains infinite Electro uptime - making C2 Xilonen the true core of Electro quickswap teams, surpassing even C6 Raiden Shogun.

Why skip C6? While C6 enables on-field DPS role with teamwide healing, Xilonen's Normal Attack has limited AoE (front-focused slash), making her clunky as a main DPS. Her C6 healing also overlaps with Furina's C6 mechanics - pulling Furina C6 is more efficient for dedicated team healing.

5. Xilonen Teams Compositions Guide

Xilonen's team-building logic is straightforward:

  1. Xilonen can slot into any team where Kazuha fits. However, Kazuha's 40% RES Shred + DMG Bonus + crowd control remains top-tier - choose based on your needs.
  2. Xilonen's healing allows replacing dedicated sustain units (e.g., healers/shielders) in some comps.
  3. Pairing Geo Xilonen with Zhongli (Archaic Petra) synergizes well: 35% DMG Bonus from Petra + 20% RES Shred from Zhongli's shield + 15% DMG Bonus from Geo Resonance + interruption resistance - perfect to compensate for non-C1 Xilonen's limitations.

Team Compositions Recommendations:

a. Neuvillette, Furina, Xilonen and Kaedehara Kazuha

b. Navia, Furina, Xilonen and Bennett

Genshin Impact Navia Furina Xilonen Bennett team

c. Arlecchino, Yelan, Xilonen and Bennett

Genshin Impact Arlecchino Yelan Xilonen and Bennett team

d. Keqing, Fischl, Xilonen and Nahida

6. Xilonen Dual-DMG Bonus Setup Guide

Quick guide to Xilonen's Dual-DMG Bonus setup and the Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City set Zhongli combo:

1. Dual-DMG Bonus Setup (Example: Arlecchino + Yelan + Xilonen):

Yelan Q (cast from distance to avoid Hydro application) → Arlecchino E (melee to apply Pyro) → Xilonen E > A > Q > A to trigger both Hydro & Pyro DMG Bonus.

Pros: Gains extra off-field element DMG Bonus, boosting total team DPS by ~7-10% (varies with build).

Cons: Limited to teams with off-field appliers + on-field enablers. Mistimed rotations may fail both buffs - DPS loss worse than not attempting.

2. Dual-DMG Bonus Setup with Zhongli (the Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City set) | Example: Arlecchino + Yelan + Xilonen + Zhongli

Yelan Burst (cast from range to avoid Hydro application) → Arlecchino Skill (melee to apply Pyro) → Zhongli Hold Skill (shield & collect Pyro shard) → Xilonen E > A > Q > A. This triggers Xilonen's Hydro/Pyro Dual Buff + Zhongli's Petra 35% Pyro DMG Bonus.

Mechanism: Geo's weak elemental application (half gauge consumption) allows Pyro from Arlecchino to persist after Zhongli's Crystallize, enabling Xilonen to trigger a second reaction.

Pros: Massive DMG stacking. Cons: Requires tight timing - Zhongli's pillar resonance demands rapid swap to Xilonen for combo execution.

Critical flaw: Except for Yelan/Arlecchino (whose abilities persist off-field), most characters lose buffs when swapped out. This delays Energy regeneration for supports. Solution: Use dual-buff setups starting from the second rotation or during final Abyss chamber to minimize rotation disruption.

Of course, skipping this technique doesn't hinder Xilonen's viability - her core DMG amplification still works perfectly fine, just with minor optimization losses.

That's all for now! We hope this guide helps optimize your team setups. With Version 5.5 here, will you pull for the new character or Xilonen? Discuss with your fellow Travelers! Stay tuned for more Genshin Impact news and official merch updates!
