Holy Soil impact ranking for all nations. Fontaine, Mondstadt... Who's last?

by WongLucien 15 Oct 2026

Before Ronova left the story, she destroyed the Celestial Nail and unsealed the Holy Soil phenomenon and the Abyss. Apep probably woke up laughing even in his dreams, never expecting that Celestia still had military forces. However, Teyvat today is no longer the era of the dragons. Although the Holy Soil phenomenon is certainly a very severe crisis, it does not mean that the seven nations of Teyvat do not have the foundation to get through this trial.

Today we will talk about the impact of the Holy Soil phenomenon on each nation, from the lightest to the most severe, and based on each nation's history, we will speculate on the measures they might have to deal with the Holy Soil phenomenon.

Genshin Impact Celestial Nail

First is the nation with the lightest impact of the Holy Soil phenomenon - Fontaine. As a nation that does not even have a Celestial Nail, what kind of Holy Soil phenomenon can be compared to directly "bathing" in the water of the Primordial Sea? Not to mention that Fontaine is now guarded by Neuvillette, the Water Dragon King who has recovered the complete authority. The Highest Authority of the ancient Water Dragon allows him to control all water elements. Whether it is the water within the Human Realm or the water within the Light Realm, it is all under the authority of this Water Dragon King.

It can be said that whether Fontaine undergoes the Holy Soil phenomenon and how it does so are all decided by a single thought of Neuvillette. This matter of the Holy Soil phenomenon can at most cause a little bit of chaos in Fontaine, and it is basically impossible for it to have any major impact.

Genshin Impact Neuvillette

The second nation affected relatively mildly should be Mondstadt. The Holy Soil phenomenon is essentially the expansion of a livable environment for dragons. Although even without the dragons to drive it, Light Realm power would still keep expanding because of its high-level nature, the efficiency would surely be greatly reduced. And from the launch of the game until now, we have never seen any element in Mondstadt other than Dvalin. The dragon wind element is also the element farthest from the land. Back then, the place where Dvalin was conceived was high in the sky. All of these make the Holy Soil phenomenon's impact on Mondstadt not too severe.

As for countermeasures, there are currently three. The first is to have Dvalin and Barbatos use their power to suppress the Holy Soil phenomenon, just like Neuvillette once pushed back the Primordial Sea. The power of the Wind Dragon and the Anemo Archon will surely be highly effective against the Holy Soil phenomenon. The second is the great millennium concerto left behind by the nameless youth to guard Mondstadt. The concerto not only contains the divine power of the destroyed gods but also, by borrowing a time-like authority, gathers the countless wishes for freedom of the people of Mondstadt. The Human Realm power within it can obviously effectively offset the Holy Soil phenomenon brought by Light Realm power.

The third is the power of the Hexenzirkel and Albedo. The Skyfrost Nail on Dragonspine is now monitored by Albedo. After experiencing the story of Nod-Krai, Albedo is very skilled at dealing with Light Realm power and even proposed a theory of diluting Light Realm power with elemental power. The evil dragon Durin under the Skyfrost Nail has also been dealt with long ago. In these turbulent times, Mondstadt really is a good place to retire.

Genshin Impact Albedo

The third nation that is affected relatively mildly should be Liyue, mainly because the sense of security provided by Zhongli and the Adepti is too strong. For Liyue, the most troublesome thing is whether the Holy Soil phenomenon will awaken Azhdaha; after all, the other Dragon King holds great malice toward humans. The Holy Soil phenomenon driven by dragons and the Holy Soil phenomenon not driven by dragons cannot be discussed in the same way. This is also the reason why I rank Liyue behind Mondstadt in terms of the degree of impact.

As for the Geovishaps and the evil spirits formed from the remnants of various gods, Liyue has plenty of manpower and high-level combat power to deal with these problems, and many Adepti possess the ability to regulate water and soil by using the Ley Lines. To Liyue, the Holy Soil phenomenon is probably just a slightly more troublesome trial.

Genshin Impact Zhongli and the Adepti

The fourth nation affected should be Inazuma. Watatsumi Island in Inazuma has always had the Holy Soil phenomenon. After all the people of Enkanomiya evacuated to the surface, the entire Enkanomiya became a paradise for the breeding of dragons. Even in the era when the Celestial Nail's seal had not yet been removed, the Holy Soil phenomenon in Enkanomiya would erode Watatsumi Island above the sea surface every few hundred years.

Genshin Impact Watatsumi Island

The Three Realms Gateway Offering event in Version 2.5 was exactly centered around the theme of the Holy Soil phenomenon. For a long time, the people of Watatsumi Island mainly relied on the Bloodbranch Coral and the Coral King Worm left behind by the god Orobashi to fight the Holy Soil phenomenon. The Bloodbranch Coral contains the Human Realm power and life force of the god Orobashi himself. Through experiments, he transplanted it onto a group of modified deep-sea vishaps. With this life force, Orobashi can be awakened. The second companion, the Coral King Worm, was found in the dark outer sea. The Coral King Worm can decompose the wild Light Realm elemental power that causes the Holy Soil phenomenon into the gentle Human Realm elemental power of today, thereby reversing the influence of the Holy Soil phenomenon.

Genshin Impact Vassals of Watatsumi Tsumi

But at the end of the Version 2.5 event, the Vassals of Watatsumi - Tsumi released most of the vishaps raised for cultivating the Bloodbranch Coral. It can be said that the reversal ritual passed down through generations on Watatsumi Island has already lost its sufficient source of materials. This batch of deep-sea vishaps is also not directly under Neuvillette's jurisdiction, and their wild Hydro elemental power may not necessarily be suppressed by Raiden Ei with her Electro Archon authority. In addition, the Holy Soil phenomenon that already exists in Inazuma itself and the whereabouts of the Electro Dragon King are unknown. It can be said that the situation of this land is not optimistic.

After all, after the calamity in Khaenri'ah 500 years ago, most of Inazuma's youkai and high-level combat power were sacrificed, and the entire nation is adjacent to the Dark Sea. It can be said that Inazuma is a representative of suffering many disasters.

Fortunately, the location of the Celestial Nail is Tsurumi Island, an uninhabited small island, which is relatively far from the two main inhabited landmasses, so there should not be any big problems in the short term. As for possible countermeasures for Inazuma, besides the Electro authority possessed by Raiden Ei, since the Sacred Sakura can absorb filth in the land to regulate the Ley Lines, perhaps this function can also work on the Holy Soil phenomenon. In addition, although the Coral King is no longer awakened by the Bloodbranch Coral, Raiden Ei, as a god, might also have life force that could take effect.

Genshin Impact Raiden Ei

The fifth key nation that may be greatly affected is Sumeru. As the only nation where the relationship between dragons and gods is very delicate, Apep may not take the initiative to attack humans, but he certainly will not let go of this windfall brought by the Holy Soil phenomenon. The Dendro Archon herself has worrying combat strength, and Sumeru does not have much high-level combat power. Even with the few revived gods under King Deshret, it is unlikely that they can win. With Apep having the environmental boost, even if Apep does not act, the Wenuts in the desert, which are squeezed for oil by the people of Sumeru every year, would also have something to say.

Fortunately, Nahida has very deep research on both Light Realm power and Human Realm power, and this is exactly the wisdom needed to suppress the Holy Soil phenomenon. Sumeru lacks combat strength, so it is very likely that it will need help from other nations. And many nations lack their own research capabilities and also need Sumeru's help. Cooperation is the best way to solve the problem.

Genshin Impact Nahida

The sixth nation that will be affected relatively seriously is Natlan. Natlan is a nation with a precedent of the Holy Soil phenomenon across its entire territory, and that Holy Soil disaster was ultimately resolved by the Celestial Nail. Even today, Natlan is covered with Phlogiston everywhere, but the current Phlogiston appears very mild under the suppression of the Celestial Nail and the continuous transformation by the Natlan people. The current Phlogiston, together with those Vishaps that the Natlan people have tamed into partners, forms this nation where humans and dragons coexist and depend on Light Realm power for survival. But no one knows whether this relationship can continue after the suppression of the Celestial Nail is lost.

The unmodified Phlogiston contains the wisdom of the Pyro Dragon race. Would the Pyro Dragon race, having obtained wisdom, be willing to lose this opportunity to control their own destiny? Even if the dragon companions in the tribes do not betray, the wild dragons of Natlan will still become a great threat. In addition, Natlan's Celestial Nail happens to be right below the Stadium of the Sacred Flame. It seems Mavuika will have a headache in the next version.

Genshin Impact Pyro Dragon

As for the one ranked last, the one that is clearly affected most severely, that is Snezhnaya. Even with the suppression of the Celestial Nail, the Holy Soil phenomenon in Snezhnaya is still prominent. Extreme cold and blizzards are everywhere, and almost all of the regions are unsuitable for humans to live in. It is the Kresnik's Torch that the Belyi Tsar ordered to be built that gave humans the qualification to survive on this frozen land.

And the source of Snezhnaya's Holy Soil phenomenon is the experiment during the City of Gold period that used the remains of the Ice Dragon to create the Primordial Human. Because Nibelung had not yet perished at that time, in the end the Ice Dragon King's authority lost control and turned the whole of Snezhnaya into frozen soil. Therefore, the severity of Snezhnaya's Holy Soil phenomenon far exceeds that of the other nations. This is because apart from the original Light Realm power, there is also the influence of the Dragon King's authority. After losing the suppression of the Celestial Nail, Snezhnaya's cold will definitely intensify greatly, and it is very likely to correspond to the scene in the Beyond PV where even the Kresnik's Torch in the fortress of Snezhnaya is frozen.

Genshin Impact Kresnik's Torch

If the situation really becomes this severe, then there should not be many ordinary people in all of Snezhnaya who can survive. Let's hope it is a scam. Otherwise, this time, there may not necessarily be the Ruler of Life to revive all of them.

Finally, let us discuss another region that also belongs to Snezhnaya - Nod-Krai. Nod-Krai can be said to be an environment with a very severe Holy Soil phenomenon in itself, except that Nod-Krai's Holy Soil phenomenon originates from the Kuuvahki of the maiden herself. And the reason she scattered this power was to protect the entire Nod-Krai, so this power is close to humans. As long as it is not an environment where Kuuvahki is especially dense, it generally will not have too much impact on people.

The only few places where Kuuvahki is relatively dense, such as Hiisi Island, the Frostmoon Scions there are born with the ability to adapt to Kuuvahki. In addition, there is also the protection of the Three Moon Goddesses, Columbina. I believe Nod-Krai will not be affected too much. At most, it will be affected by Snezhnaya and become a bit colder. Just put on a few more clothes to keep warm.

Genshin Impact Kuuvahki

Finally, by using this Holy Soil phenomenon as an opportunity, let us discuss one of Teyvat's most core contradictions - the matter of human evolution. The reason why the Holy Soil phenomenon causes so many disadvantages to humans is essentially because humans are a foreign species created by the Heavenly Principles. But the foreign species created by the Heavenly Principles are not only humans, and many of these species have adapted to Teyvat's elemental power through evolution, transforming from ordinary creatures into more powerful monsters.

Humans also possess this potential for evolution. The elves of Snezhnaya are human children who evolved in the first place, and they can survive and reproduce on the barren, cold tundra without needing the Kresnik's Torch. Elemental power will imperceptibly cause living creatures to evolve into forms that can adapt to Teyvat's environment. Artificial modification can accelerate and optimize this process. But the Heavenly Principles do not allow humans to evolve. He is even willing to go through great trouble to transform the entire Teyvat into a place suitable for ordinary humans to live, yet he is not willing to add a segment of genes that can adapt to Teyvat's elemental power when creating humans. This is one of the most fundamental contradictions of Teyvat. If humans could also adapt to elemental power, then the Heavenly Principles would not have needed to transform the environment to cause the dragons to degenerate. The relationship with the dragons would not necessarily have had to reach that point of life-and-death struggle.

The City of Gold was doomed to destruction not merely because it inquired into the wisdom of evolution; among the Six Root Sins of The Akademiya, the first sin is also the matter of human evolution. If the Heavenly Principles were willing to give up the path of pure-blooded humans, many of Teyvat's current contradictions could be eliminated. This is also why I am more inclined to think that the Heavenly Principles is an AI.

Genshin Impact Tsaritsa

Because among the Three Laws of Robotics, the first law is that a robot may not harm a human being. After evolving, whether they can still be recognized as humans is hard to say. Even if they are still recognized as a part of humanity, their priority of protection would surely be below that of genuine humans.

There is also Asimov's later-added Zeroth Law of Robotics - a robot may not harm humanity as a whole, or by inaction allow humanity as a whole to come to harm. This law allows a robot to sacrifice a few individuals to preserve all of humanity, and it indeed fits rather well with the formal logic of the Heavenly Principles. Of course, the Heavenly Principles cannot really be just a simple robot. It is just that the planners may have had a similar reference in their writing direction.

Obviously, humanity cannot always be ruled by such a rigid existence, so rebelling against the Heavenly Principles is necessary. Whether humanity chooses to eliminate the Holy Soil phenomenon, or to evolve into life forms similar to dragons within the Holy Soil phenomenon, that is humanity's own choice.
