As a Cryo main DPS debuting in Version 5.7, Skirk primarily features two playstyles. The first is the previously mentioned Normal Attack-focused style: after teammates use their skills, Skirk casts her Elemental Skill, then unleashes her Elemental Burst, continuing Normal Attacks until her whale form ends. For the Elemental Burst-focused playstyle, support characters activate their skills first, followed by Skirk holding her Elemental Skill, then immediately using her Elemental Burst before switching to another main DPS to deal damage.

Regarding weapon priority for Skirk, her signature weapon, Azurelight, is naturally the optimal choice. The signature weapon provides significant damage boosts; after obtaining Skirk at C0, pulling for Azurelight takes precedence over pursuing C2 or C6. Without her signature weapon, excellent alternatives include Kamisato Ayato's Haran Geppaku Futsu, the Primordial Jade Cutter, or Mistsplitter Reforged. For four-star options, consider Calamity of Eshu, The Black Sword, or Finale of the Deep.

For artifact selection, both Finale of the Deep Galleries and Marechaussee Hunter are viable options. However, the Marechaussee set requires pairing with Furina, and caution is needed to avoid exceeding the Crit Rate cap. Equip an ATK% Sands, Cryo DMG Bonus% / ATK% Goblet, and CRIT DMG / CRIT Rate Circlet. Prioritize substats with CRIT Rate, CRIT DMG, and ATK%. The artifact's total Crit Rate should ideally not exceed 50%.
