Genshin Snezhnaya Preview: To Snezhnaya and the Future

by Genshin Fans 23 Apr 2026

There really was a major reveal on the 24th! The April Fools' Day teaser from the beginning of the month truly hinted at a Snezhnaya preview. Last year it was "Behind the Scenes of Genshin Impact: Let's Start With Nod-Krai," and this year it's "Behind the Scenes of Genshin Impact: To Snezhnaya and the Future." The preview image shows Snezhnaya's snowy plains and the snowland railway that traverses the nation—a detail first mentioned in "Long Night's Oath."

The emblem of Snezhnaya appears beneath, combining the Cryo elemental symbol with the iconic onion dome characteristic of Orthodox Christian architecture. Its design may be modeled after Moscow's "Cathedral of Christ the Saviour" (Russian: Храм Христа Спасителя). The cathedral featured at the end of the "A Winter Night's Lazzo" trailer is likely this very cathedral, the tallest Orthodox church in the world.

However, the icon's design also bears a strong resemblance to Moscow's "Saint Basil's Cathedral" (Russian: Собор Василия Блаженного), located near Red Square in the city center, adjacent to the Kremlin. This cathedral, once selected as one of Russia's Seven Wonders, is regarded as one of Russia's iconic symbols. The roof on the right. in the Snezhnaya icon is one of the distinctive features characteristic of Saint Basil's Cathedral.

Cathedral of Christ the Saviour

As mentioned earlier, some friends noted that the 24th aligns with Orthodox Easter, but this year's Orthodox Easter actually already passed on the 12th of this month (Easter falls on the first Sunday after the Paschal full moon, which varies each year; the Western and Eastern churches calculate it differently, leading to separate dates). Strictly speaking, this preview did not precisely align with the calendar in that regard.

However, the name of the Tsaritsa, "Anastasya" (Russian: Анастасия), does carry the meaning of "resurrection" and "rebirth." In Christian tradition, this name is often given to baby girls born around Easter or Christmas, symbolizing the resurrection of Christ. It's not hard to imagine that this will be a significant theme in the Snezhnaya storyline.

I wonder what this preview will cover. Snezhnaya, as the final stop on the seven-nation journey, is incredibly important—I'm beyond excited!
