Genshin Hexenzirkel Members: The Hidden Force Behind Teyvat's Fate?

by WongLucien 31 Dec 2025

The Hexenzirkel is a mysterious and powerful organization in Teyvat. Each of its members possesses extraordinary skills. Some hail from beyond the stars and can even break the fourth wall to interact with players. Others use fairy tales and metaphors to record the forbidden true history of Teyvat. There is even one who devoured Naberius's Heart, replacing it to become the deity governing creation for the planet Teyvat.

Each of them possesses world-defying abilities and distinct personalities; legends about them have always circulated. It wasn't until the current "Luna III" version that we finally saw the true faces of its members within the game. In this video, let's take a closer look: what kind of secrets does this powerful organization, the Hexenzirkel, which dares to challenge the gods, hold?

1. Genshin Impact Alice - Witch A

Speaking of the Hexenzirkel, the first to appear and the most familiar to us is the great sorceress, the original founder of the Hexenzirkel, an adventurer of many worlds, the author of the Teyvat Travel Guide, the creator of the first four years of summer events, and also the mother of our most adorable Spark Knight in Mondstadt, little Klee: Witch A-Lady Alice.

Alice's traces are found all over Teyvat, and the things she does can only be described as astounding and earth-shattering. These include, but are not limited to, attempting to build a Hilichurl-powered power plant in Mondstadt, planning to grind up exhausted and elderly Hilichurls as feed for the power plant's fuel, and blowing up the Dragon's Lair into Stormterror's Lair... In Liyue, if Xiao and Zhongli hadn't been keeping an eye on her, she would have sunk all those adepti abodes in the Jueyun Karst underground.

Genshin Impact Alice

In Inazuma, she was even more unrestrained. She made Yae Miko and Yoimiya cry, set off fireworks for experiments in violation of festival bans, injuring Kujou Sara's wings, and even tried six times to have Kamisato Ayaka debut as an idol. These deeds are all recorded in the Teyvat Travel Guide written by Alice herself. From her "glorious achievements," it's clear that this witch's personality is truly vibrant and distinctive, possessing an insatiable curiosity about everything. In this way, Klee and her mother really are alike.

Previously, Alice always interacted with everyone through the image of Dodoco. It must be said that the Hexenzirkel is practically a Dodoco headquarters, with every member possessing their own exclusive Dodoco image. The official even released quirky and adorable short videos of the Hexenzirkel DodoCos, which left many Travelers eagerly hoping for official Hexenzirkel Dodoco plushies or keychain merchandise. However, currently, only Klee Dodoco plush and keychains are available on the market. Travelers who like them should definitely not miss out.

In this Luna III version, Alice appeared before players in her true form for the first time. As soon as she appeared, she displayed abilities like adjusting the player's camera and modifying dialogue boxes-attributes that break the fourth wall. Later, she also expressed with immense confidence that her behind-the-scenes discussions about the Greater Lord Rukkhadevata and the Four Shades-taboo subjects in Teyvat-have no effect on her whatsoever. "Even me talking about this here in theory should incur punishment, but they can't control me. I can say whatever I want." Furthermore, in the book "The Little Witch and the Undying Fire," co-authored by all the witches, concepts such as perpetual motion machines, the electroweak unification theory, and the grand unification theory are mentioned.

Genshin Impact Alice

All of the above is enough to show that Alice's character setting is different from other characters in Genshin Impact, making me wonder if she traveled to Teyvat from Earth, allowing her to ignore Teyvat's rules like the Traveler. Currently, Alice's job is to maintain the stability of Teyvat's boundaries, preventing the Abyss that envelops the planet from outside from seeping in. In her own words, it's to create a healthy, stable, and sunny living environment for her adorable daughter.

However, it is likely precisely because of this job that she couldn't continue writing the Teyvat Travel Guide. Otherwise, Fontaine, Sumeru, and Natlan wouldn't have escaped her "mischief." Just thinking about it makes me feel that someone like Furina would definitely not escape her grasp.

2. Genshin Impact Barbeloth - Witch B

Next, let's talk about the old lady master mentioned by Mona, the Thrice-Great Astromancer, the Goddess of Prophecy, the Master of Hydromancy - Witch B, Astromancer Barbeloth Trismegistus. She is exceptionally skilled in astrology and prophecy. The hydromancy she invented is considered the only divination art in Teyvat capable of glimpsing true fate. Her prophecies have never been wrong, and she was the first person to discover and reveal the secret of Teyvat's false sky.

Teyvat's starry sky is a fabricated projection by some force, with the true trajectory of fate hidden beneath this false appearance. In the Luna III storyline, Barbeloth made a prophecy about Columbina's fate, stating she would face death and rebirth. After completing the fourth-day task of Dvalin's story quest and returning to the book, you can trigger Barbeloth's prophecy about Paimon. She clearly recognized Paimon's special identity, but due to certain rules, she ultimately remained silent.

Genshin Impact Barbeloth

Barbeloth can be said to be one of the characters who has glimpsed Teyvat's deepest secrets. As the next two witches have made fewer appearances, we will briefly introduce them:

Witch J - I. Ivanovna N.

She was once the first mayor of Snezhnaya and one of the few mortal witches in the Hexenzirkel. She temporarily left the Hexenzirkel due to marriage. In her later years, when her husband was old and ill, Witch J ended his suffering with her own hands and then returned to the Hexenzirkel. She eventually passed away peacefully from old age. It wasn't until Version 3.6 that Scarlett was recognized by Alice and became the successor to Witch J.

Witch O - Octavia

The creator of Miliastra Wonderland, a cosmic traveler like Alice. Having no courage to face her tragically destroyed homeland, she drifted among various planets in the cosmos. She spends relatively little time in Teyvat; the various wondrous spaces within Miliastra Wonderland are based on her observations from different planets. Impressed by the Traveler and Paimon's passion for seeking knowledge and exploration, she entrusted the key to Miliastra Wonderland to us.

3. Genshin Impact Nicole Reeyn - Witch N

Witch N - Nicole is our old friend. We had contact with her as early as the Sumeru and Fontaine versions, though at that time we only heard her voice without seeing her in person. This time in Luna III, we finally meet her for real. Contrary to our initial impression of a cold goddess, she is actually quite talkative by nature. But don't be fooled by the "dumb beauty" image she projects this time; her true identity is quite extraordinary.

She is essentially one of the Angels created by the Heavenly Principles to assist humanity, a guide in Hyperborea 6000 years ago. Later, because some members of her kin betrayed the Heavenly Principles, the entire kin was demoted and returned. Nicole consequently lost her voice and can only communicate by projecting her voice into others' minds. She is also one of the few special individuals among the Angels who can maintain a human form. Furthermore, she possesses the most knowledge, starting her stories right from the beginning with Nibelung's creation of the world.

Genshin Impact Nicole Reeyn

In the Luna III storyline, it is she who guides the Traveler through the story of the Heavenly Principles, Phanes, Nibelung, and the Three Moon Goddesses during the War of the Funerary Flame. Genshin Impact has finally used Nicole to bring this part of history into the main storyline. Given Nicole's identity as a lore expert and her talkative nature, she will likely appear frequently in future storylines to explain Teyvat's history to the Traveler and advance the plot.

4. Genshin Impact Andersdotter - Witch M

If Witch N is the observer, then the sixth witch we're introducing-Witch M-is the recorder of history. As we all know, in Teyvat, knowledge and history related to its origins cannot be recorded or disseminated. This is a fundamental rule written when Phanes descended and reshaped Teyvat. Witch M is a fairy tale writer who subtly records this history and knowledge. The dark fairy tale "The Boar Princess," which documents the brutal rule of Mondstadt's old aristocracy, and "The Pale Princess and the Six Pygmies," which records the story of the Five Sinners of Khaenri'ah, are both her works.

Genshin Impact Andersdotter

She also collaborated with Alice and Barbeloth to create the simulated world Simulanka, modeled after Teyvat. By grafting fate, she allowed the little Dvalin from Simulanka to be reborn in Teyvat, thereby altering the unshakable fate decreed by the Heavenly Principles. As a mere mortal, she has written stories that can be called miracles, which is truly admirable.

5. Genshin Impact Rhinedottir - Witch R

The final witch to be introduced is also the most discussed and controversial one - Rhinedottir. She was the court alchemist of Khaenri'ah. The Thundercraven Rifthound and the Golden Wolflord, which divided the power of the Abyss, were her alchemical creations. These creatures triggered the Cataclysm that swept across all of Teyvat.

Beyond that, her other creations have also triggered many major events, with far-reaching consequences. The first is the Dark Dragon Durin in Mondstadt. With its childlike nature coexisting alongside immense power, it caused significant destruction to Mondstadt, prompting the Knights of Favonius' golden generation to launch an expedition against it. Signora's husband, a Fatui Harbinger, also perished in this war against the dark dragon. Durin was later defeated by Venti and Dvalin, its poisonous blood polluting the entirety of Dragonspine.

Genshin Durin

Another creation of Rhinedottir is Fontaine's Elynas. Sharing the same origin as Durin, it possessed an immensely massive body and caused significant destruction in Fontaine, also due to its childlike nature. To avoid causing greater harm, it chose to be killed by the teacher of Master Rene. Approximately one hundred years later, an explosion occurred within Elynas's remains due to the war waged by Master Rene of the Narzissenkreuz Ordo. At that time, a combination of mechanical fragments, Abyssal power, Pure Water Spirits, and the soul and flesh of Elynas gave birth to Fontaine's unique race-the Melusines.

Rhinedottir's creation of the out-of-control monstrosity Bakunawa was even more monumental. Composed of flesh and energy, Bakunawa was incredibly massive, capable of devouring everything, with limitless regeneration and near immortality. At that time, one of Natlan's Six Heroes, the leader of the Masters of the Night-Wind, sacrificed themselves, self-destructing to perish together with Bakunawa, which led to the formation of the Mare Jivari. Subsequently, heroes from various tribes divided it into a thousand pieces and sealed them deep within various locations across the Mare Jivari.

However, due to its blood's characteristic of contaminating time, the flow of time at each sealing site is extremely chaotic, containing various different temporal nodes. As a result, the Mare Jivari has become one of the most dangerous regions in all of Teyvat.

Genshin Impact Rhinedottir

The creation Rhinedottir was most satisfied with, and the one we are most familiar with, is "Albedo." Albedo is the only successful work of the Primordial Human Project. Based on the immaculate earth, Chalk, life was bestowed upon him through the secret art of Khaenri'ah, the Art of Khemia. Later, after Rhinedottir passed on her alchemy to Albedo, she departed.

Judging from Rhinedottir's creations, her negative impact on Teyvat is undeniably significant. Like the Dragon King of Fire, she spent most of her time in a muddled state under the influence of the Abyss, with limited periods of lucid thought. However, during an expedition with Albedo, she discovered the holy relic of the Ruler of Life, one of the Four Shades of the Heavenly Principles-Naberius's Heart. After consuming it, Rhinedottir replaced Naberius, becoming the Ruler of Life who governs the power of creation in Teyvat, which also freed her from the Abyss's influence.

Genshin Impact Albedo

Although opinions on Rhinedottir are divided, a review of her experiences reveals considerable formidable strength. Many major events in Teyvat's history were propelled by her actions, proving that she is one of the forces shaping Teyvat's destiny.

Genshin Impact Rhinedottir

Alright, we now have a general understanding of the seven witches whose information is currently known. However, judging from the performance animation of the Imaginarium Theater, the Hexenzirkel is likely meant to have nine witch members. The remaining two should make their appearance in future storylines.

Based on the seven who have appeared so far, each member of the Hexenzirkel possesses extraordinary skills and formidable strength. Each one challenges the rules and boundaries of Teyvat, profoundly influencing the course of the world's fate. In this storyline, the Hexenzirkel has also stepped from behind the scenes to center stage. I am thoroughly excited for the plot driven by such a group of uniquely distinctive characters! Let's see where they will steer Teyvat's seemingly predetermined destiny.
