Genshin Impact Luna IV New Character Silhouette Revealed

by WongLucien 08 Jan 2026

Genshin Impact recently released the preview video for the new version. I believe all Travelers have already gained a lot of understanding about the upcoming version, "Luna IV", after watching it. Today, let's compile, summarize, and analyze the detailed content within the preview video together, and see if there are any details you might have missed!

1. Genshin Impact Luna IV - New Characters

1. Lohen

Before analyzing Luna IV, let's first take a look at these six brand-new characters. The first one should be Lohen, the Vice-Captain of the Knights of Favonius' Fifth Company. The Fifth Company is a rather special unit, initially formed with a primary focus on using bows. With technological advancements, they have gradually begun to be equipped with various ranged weapons.

Note the special small crossbow he wears on his arm here, combined with the European-style single-shoulder cape, giving off a scout or ranger vibe, which fits the Fifth Company's concept perfectly.

Genshin Impact Lohen

Mika says that Lohen enjoys running around on the front lines with high combat enthusiasm. What he calls "scouting" means eliminating all enemies, and he often complains that there aren't enough monsters to fight. He also likes playing pranks, and Mika has gotten used to being teased by him. He's a character with a very interesting personality. Currently, Lohen is stationed in Nod-Krai under the command of Grand Master Varka.

2. Varka & Nicole Reeyn

Next are Varka and Nicole Reeyn. Nicole's angel form has already appeared in the PV. Note that the Grand Master's weapon is a true greatsword-he already has one massive sword on his left side, and if you look closely, there's another in his other hand behind his back. Such formidable strength is truly astounding.

3. Gretel

There is relatively little information about the fourth character. Based on their attire, they are speculated to be Gretel from the Knights of Favonius, who can be considered Amber's apprentice. Amber says Gretel is a younger sister with remarkable talent and is currently learning some of the Outrider's skills from her. Look closely at the silhouette-the ribbon hairband on the head also gives a bit of an Amber vibe.

4. Linnea

Next, the fifth character is likely Linnea, Aino's older sister. She possesses extensive biological knowledge and serves as a consultant for the Adventurers' Guild, having previously appeared in the "Clink Clank Clash" event. If you look carefully at the silhouette's hairstyle and the raised strap on the shoulder, it matches exactly with the pink-haired character from the event.

Genshin Impact Linnea

5. Sandrone

The sixth and final character has no physical form, only a reflection in the water. It is speculated that this might be Sandrone, who engaged in unarmed close combat with The Doctor, resulting in her body being physically broken and sacrificed, leaving only her soul. This event is also recorded in Master Rene's achievements.

2. Genshin Impact "Luna IV" Content

Having discussed the anticipated characters, let's now delve into the main topic and look at the information available for the Luna IV version. At the end of the previous version, after Columbina leaped into the Lunar Gate, The Doctor also left the battlefield. He first returns to the Fatui's Kuuvahki Experimental Design Bureau before heading to the research institute in the far north of Nod-Krai.

This shot in the PV shows The Doctor's shoe, with the Experimental Design Bureau visible in the distance. Why does The Doctor go to the Design Bureau first instead of heading directly north? Because beneath the Experimental Design Bureau lies the largest fragment of the Eternal Moon, which is likely a crucial material for The Doctor's next plan.

Genshin The Doctor

Shifting focus back to the northern part of Nod-Krai, this is the area Varka went to support during "Luna I" and will also be the new map opening in Luna IV. Here, the Abyssal corruption is even more severe. To combat the Radiant Hunt, the Torchbearers have established their main base here-Piramida City. The new character, Yeloya, is one of its members. The Knights of Favonius have also set up a support base in the northern lands. If The Doctor intends to cause trouble in the north, this would further create an opportunity for Nod-Krai and Mondstadt to join forces.

Genshin Impact Piramida City

In the PV, not only does Grand Master Varka take to the field himself, but the Hexenzirkel elder, the Archangel Nicole Reeyn, will also intervene. The Doctor has deployed a vast energy domain near Pyramida City in northern Nod-Krai, which continuously expands outward, devouring everything.

Albedo and Durin, who went to investigate, discovered that The Doctor intends to swallow the entirety of Nod-Krai. What The Doctor currently desires most are the Three Moons, aiming to obtain the authority of the world's laws to become a transcendent being. Since Columbina is no longer available, The Doctor plans to create a new moon himself. Sandrone mentioned that she once confirmed through Rene's "World Formula" that Teyvat originally had three moons long ago, but just moments ago, the number of moons became four.

Therefore, I suspect The Doctor may intend to devour all of Nod-Krai and elevate this region as the fourth moon into the sky-after all, this land was once the raw material used by the dragons to create the Three Moons and is also the remnants of a fourth moon that never ascended.

Genshin Impact The Doctor

The Doctor, driven by his own vows, shows no regard for human life whatsoever. In the PV, numerous fallen individuals are shown, each accompanied by an animal. At first, I thought Lauma had sent the animals to aid the fallen humans, but later it seemed that wasn't the case, as the Wanderer remarked, "Those are not the eyes of an animal."

In the voiceover, there is also a strangely modulated plea for help. This particular shot caught my attention-a distorted Vishappu beside a fallen Fatui member. Did they turn humans into Vishappus?

Genshin The Doctor

Then, look at this scene in the PV: in an underground space, a vast amount of coins and treasure are swirling and flying under the influence of lunar force. Zooming in on the image reveals the pattern on the coins-these are the Ancient Iron Coins from the recurring "Lost Riches" event series. It is with these ancient coins that we exchange for various colored Mini Seelies with the NPC Ulman.

Genshin Ancient Iron Coins

Ancient Iron Coins are a type of ancient currency, no longer in daily circulation, but sought after by merchants like Ulman for their collectible or special value. Setting aside how delighted Ulman would be to see so many Ancient Iron Coins, the sheer amount of wealth buried underground itself seems unusual.

This reminds me not only of the Treasure Hoarders' founder, Reed Miller, but also of a Nod-Krai setting-the Sampo Mill. Legend says the Sampo Mill could produce endless gold, grain, and salt, creating a paradise of eternal abundance. This attracted various factions with the power and resources it promised, though in reality, it's a mythologized version of lost technology by later generations.

The Sampo Mill is essentially a top-tier technological device from the Frostmoon Scions of Hyperborea. It possesses the ability to reconstruct matter at the subatomic level and can even directly convert matter into stable energy output in a special form, making it an incredibly powerful device. Currently, the Sampo Mill is sealed within the Frostmoon Scions' Sanctum, and legend says only the Saint-Child can activate it. Could it be that The Doctor, in order to create a new moon, intends to use the Saint-Child to activate the Sampo Mill?

Genshin Impact Sampo Mill

It's unclear whether the device in front of The Doctor in this PV shot is related to the Sampo Mill. At least, it doesn't look much like Eternal Moon Marrow right now; it's hard to say what this thing is. What is known is that The Doctor's energy domain has already engulfed the Fatui's Kuuvahki Experimental Design Bureau.

Sandrone escaped to the flagship sponsored in Nasha Town and started working right there after setting up two tables. In the current game version, this area is still an empty lot. The location of the final battle in the PV is Nasha Town, where The Doctor lightly flicks a finger to split open the false sky, revealing a moon outside. However, it's still uncertain whether this space is the false sky or if the moon outside is the Twin Moons, as previously the area beyond the false sky had a dark red hue with many moon fragments visible. The space The Doctor opens here shows a blue starry sky, more resembling the space behind the Lunar Gate.

Genshin The Doctor

Those participating in the final battle besides the Traveler include Lauma, Flins, and Nefer. These three are clearly characters with high lunar force adaptability. They likely gained the ability to join the fight through some means, no longer fearing The Doctor's time-stop authority, possibly thanks to assistance from Nicole.

The two Harbingers, Sandrone and Arlecchino, also join the fight for their friend Columbina. With the support of Nicole's magical formation, Arlecchino's power is enhanced. After Pulonia is defeated, Sandrone even steps onto the battlefield herself, engaging in unarmed combat and cooperating with the Traveler against The Doctor. In the PV, Sandrone also expresses her thoughts directly on multiple occasions.

Genshin The Doctor

Next, in Luna IV, the Traveler will obtain a new outfit. This outfit is unlocked only after completing the Archon Quest. Along with the outfit's unlock, the Traveler's power will also be enhanced. Therefore, this Archon Quest will include storyline content for the Traveler and is likely to address the earlier foreshadowing about the spaceship. As a Descender unbound by the world's rules, we will play a crucial role in this major battle.

Genshin Traveler new outfit

Then, the most important thing: the PV dropped a lot of information, but there's so little about Columbina. After she jumped into the Lunar Gate at the end of Luna III, where is she? Mihoyo really enjoys hiding things; the direction of the plot is completely unpredictable.

What can be seen in the preview is only this scene: a shot of the three moons aligned in a straight line. Their positions are very clear: the farthest and largest is the Eternal Moon, the one in the middle is the Frost Moon, and the one closest to Teyvat is the Iridescent Moon. Note here: currently, the Eternal Moon and Iridescent Moon have been shattered by the Heavenly Principles, and the Frost Moon has been exiled beyond the false sky. Therefore, this shot should be from 6,000 years ago.

Genshin Three Moons

Regarding the time loop setting, this version's title and key visual design also conceal a lot of information. The version name comes from a novel by the Italian writer Italo Calvino, whose works are characterized by a layered "book-within-a-book" structure. The story stops abruptly halfway, immediately embedding a new story. Just as you get absorbed in this newly inserted story, it suddenly cuts off again to introduce a third new tale. This mimics the reader's experience of constantly seeking expectations while being continually interrupted, making you cyclically experience such emotions.

This time, if we connect the beginning and end of the key visual, we can see the hint within. Columbina's story is likely also a time loop nested within the main timeline. Therefore, I speculate that Columbina's birth 500 years ago might very well be the price she paid for returning from the past after entering the Lunar Gate.

Genshin Impact Luna IV

Apart from Columbina, the whereabouts of Rerir and Tholindis, who entered the Lunar Gate earlier, are also worth noting. Additionally, in this key visual and throughout the entire PV footage, Paimon is nowhere to be seen and seems to have only one line of dialogue. Combined with the fact that Paimon was previously frozen by The Doctor's time-stop, the situation feels ominous.

Genshin Impact Zibai

Finally, looking at the Lantern Rite Festival, the White Horse Adeptus "Zibai" makes her appearance. She is considered an old acquaintance, mentioned in various ancient Liyue texts, weapon stories, and even in Enkanomiya. Zibai once worked on the moon; the three moon goddesses drove a chariot pulled by white horses to meet with the stars. What happened after the authority of the three moons was taken over by the Four Shades, and what is Zibai's relationship with the Ruler of Time, remains unclear for now.

Genshin Impact Moon

The disturbances in Nod-Krai have also affected Liyue, leading to the "Toad Devours the Moon" event. "Toad" is another name for a toad; ancient China associated lunar eclipse phenomena with the myth of a toad devouring the moon. In the PV, this appears to be a lunar eclipse, but its nature is likely different. What could possibly block the moon in the false sky?

Moreover, this object seems to change in size, which is very strange. The scene also shows a shot similar to last year's Tao Dou tree, possibly hinting at a connection between the ley lines of the boundary between life and death and the moon.
