What is the meaning of Genshin Impact's Arcane Premonition?
"The winds of the mortal world whisper their fables. Even sorrow takes flight like white dandelions, drifting toward peace and fulfillment.
To defy the current is to learn. By weaving beauty, kindness, and wisdom into one path, the crown of elevation is complete."
Genshin Impact's official account suddenly posted a mysterious message. Briefly discussing it, I'd guess it's related to Durin, who is about to make an official appearance in the storyline-it should be a hint. Speaking of this, I believe all Travelers must be very curious, so let's analyze this message with deeper meaning together!
(Elements appearing in the image (from top to bottom): Razor's Wolf Within, Fischl's Oz, Sucrose's reagent bottle, the badge pinned on Mona's hat, Venti's Lyre, Klee's Jumpy Dumpty, Albedo's drawing board, Alice's witch hat.)
The main point that needs explanation is the second sentence. The expression here is related to the Kabbalistic Tree of Life, which mentions four "Sefirot": "Beauty" (Tiphareth), "Mercy" (also known as "Loving-kindness," Chesed), "Wisdom" (Chochmah), and "Crown" (Keter).
The Paths connecting them are the 1st Path (Crown → Wisdom), the 6th Path (Wisdom → Mercy), and the 10th Path (Mercy → Beauty). In the normal description, the flow should emanate downward from the top "Crown" to "Beauty," but here it becomes a path starting from "Beauty," passing through "Loving-kindness" and "Wisdom," and finally reaching the "Crown." Therefore, this is called the "reverse process of emanation," representing the accomplishment of a great work seeking ascension.

"Additionally, in the theory of the secret society 'Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn,' the paths of the Tree of Life are considered to be related to the 22 main cards of the Tarot, the 'Major Arcana.'" Coincidentally, the 'Lunar Arcanum' recently introduced in the game are designed based on the Major Arcana cards.
The three paths mentioned here have the following correspondences: the 10th Path - IX-The Hermit (the card face of the Lunar Arcana features a scholar of The Akademiya, representing the pursuit of 'knowledge'; in fact, the card text directly states a sentence 'from loving-kindness to beauty path.')
The 6th Path - V-The Hierophant (referred to as "V-Clergyman" in the Lunar Arcana Cards; the card face depicts the Church of Favonius, and the card text is related to Venti, calling him "the sentinel who holds the keys but lacks the authority to speak of the mysteries of heaven").
The 1st Path - 0-The Fool (the card face of the Lunar Arcana features the Travelers).
Lunaglyph Sacred Card XXII - The Fool, the sacred card corresponding to Travelers. Even the "Fate" that weaves the "World" cannot imprison the wandering star. To the master of the cage, an unplanned path is originally an unforgivable act of folly.
This is the final card among the twenty-two Lunar Arcana Cards, and it corresponds to the twin protagonists. The card's text includes the names "Aether" and "Lumine," while the "pure white companion" refers to Paimon. They have traveled across the entire world, collecting countless treasures in their bag, yet they seem to possess nothing materially. Only the best companion, who is always by their side, is the true treasure.
The sincere heart of the pure white companion is also like this: that strand of golden hair was originally just one among millions of stars, but to her, it is the entire world. The "sevenfold steps" represent the seven elements, seven thoughts, and seven nations-a sacred and complete trial. Only after undergoing these "sevenfold" trials can the meaning of the journey and the truth of the world be revealed. However, the travelers who are not bound by "fate" mock all preordained paths.
Just as the omen from that Khaenri'ah prophecy foretells, "We venture into the cosmos, or descend into the abyss; there is no difference between the two." One star ascends to the high heavens, another star falls into the deep valley-seemingly opposite paths, yet originally there was no distinction between them. But this does not mean walking together toward the "unknown darkness"; rather, it is the pursuit of pure "freedom and truth" within the infinite radiant light.
The prototype of the Lunar Arcana Cards is the twenty-two main cards of the Tarot, the "Major Arcana." The cards begin with "The Fool" and end with "The World," forming an exploratory path known as the "Fool's Journey." This journey symbolizes the "stages of life's growth" and the "voyage of self-discovery," representing a process from incompleteness to completeness and also a process from nothingness to nothingness.
Corresponding to the twins, "The Fool," as the most unique card in the Major Arcana transcending all others, is regarded as both the 0th card and the 22nd card. It is the "beginning" of everything and also the "end" of everything. Representing "innocence," "freedom," "travel," and "dreams," the Fool symbolizes "infinite possibilities," and this is precisely the precious gift that the twins bring to Teyvat.
Durin is not the first time to be associated with the Kabbalistic Tree of Life. In the "Paralogism" quest, when Albedo used human transmutation to turn the fairy-tale dragon Durin into a human, the incantation he chanted included the line "Pass through the 18th, the World, and the 20th Paths...", indicating that he was guiding the soul of little Durin toward a path of light and balance for its incarnation into the world.
That concludes all the analysis related to the official Genshin Impact release "Arcane Premonition." We believe that after reading it, you will undoubtedly look forward even more to the future storyline developments and the appearance of "Durin." Of course, remember to keep following our future articles and in-site merchandise. See you next time!
