Genshin Impact Version 7.2 Preview Poster Interpretation and Leaks

by Genshin Fans 23 Oct 2026

The official Genshin Impact has already released the 7.2 version "Hour of Ruin" preview poster. Anastasya, Mitya, Sandrone, Pierro, and Vesna will all receive a large amount of story screen time. The distant background of the poster also hides the figure of the new five-star character Noy. This one preview image hides a huge number of foreshadowing details. Below, let us break down the information in it together.

"Hour of Ruin" Interpreting

Polar Star

The 7.2 version name, "Hour of Ruin," comes from the text of Tartaglia's signature weapon, Polar Star: "Know that the destruction of all precedes the birth of a new order." "At devastation's end, we will greet a stainless dawn." The core logic of this line is that the complete collapse of the old order is itself the prerequisite for the birth of a new order. What is even more interesting is that the lyrics of the Snezhnaya version BGM adapted it: "Know that the destruction of all precedes the birth of a new order, Only our Tsaritsa, Anastasya, shall usher in the perfect dawn." This line seems to hide deeper meaning regarding the Cryo Archon. She may be willing to become the end of the old era, sacrificing herself to be destroyed, only to usher in a stainless rebirth for Teyvat in the truest sense.

Version 7.2 Preview Poster Interpretation

From the perspective of compositional storytelling, this poster belongs to the classic camp-opposition structure: on the left side of the image are the Traveler, Paimon, Vesna, and Sandrone, while on the right side are Anastasya, Pierro, and Mitya. The two sides form a clear confrontation. In the center of the image is the Celestial Nail, activated by Ronova at the end of the 7.1 main story, shining with light.

But if we think about it further, we will find that this preview image is not the most typical central opposition composition. It is instead an opposition composition where symmetry and asymmetry are intertwined, or a "mirror / two-leader" opposition composition with the central Celestial Nail light pillar as the boundary. The light of the central Celestial Nail is both the very center of the image, the dividing line separating the left and right camps, and also the meeting point of the gazes of the different characters on the left and right. This undoubtedly emphasizes, in narrative terms, the focus of the 7.2 version's main story, which is the different ways the different characters handle the Celestial Nail incident. It also clearly confirms the "temporary cooperation" that the Traveler previously said to both the Tsaritsa and Danica.

In addition, the difference in character body sizes creates the element of "asymmetry". On the right side, Anastasya's figure is huge, and the color scheme is mainly blue and white, that is, cool tones, which not only emphasizes power and status (a sense of oppression), but also highlights a sense of indifference. On the right side, Mitya and Pierro are, in terms of composition, equivalent to Anastasya's attendants or "executors of will" — what is thought-provoking is that Vesna and Sandrone form the opposite side in composition. Sandrone is easy to understand, but Vesna chooses to stand with the Traveler, and this will require the next version's main story to tell us why.

In addition, we can also notice the huge black wings in the background on the left side of the image, which can be described as covering the sky and blocking out the sun. Some speculate that this is the Cryo Dragon King who is about to awaken.

At the same time, at the very bottom of the image, which is also the place directly facing the light of the Celestial Nail, there is a very small figure with red hair. This is obviously Noy, who appeared in the Snezhnaya preview PV but has been absent from the main story — from the PV, it can be seen that this is a character who has a rather significant conflict with the current Snezhnaya officials, and it is unknown what kind of role she will play in 7.2.

Version 7.2 Preview: Meeting of the Seven Nations' Leaders

A picture of the seven nations' leaders meeting has been revealed. Those attending are Furina, Nahida, Venti, the Tsaritsa, Mavuika, the Raiden Shogun, Ningguang and other key members, gathering together to solve the Holy Soil problem. The witch Alice and Nicole will also show up. Just looking at this lineup, the story is really going to heat up.

Version 7.2 New Map and Banner Leaks

The direction of the new map in 7.2 is not hard to deduce. In the 7.0 story, the Tsaritsa is described as "going east to campaign against monsters", and the direction the train railway extends also points to the east; and in the NPC dialogue of Version 6.0 in Nod-Krai, Novokitezhgrad has already been mentioned repeatedly — a town at the southern end of the Snezhnaya mainland, where large numbers of Fae live, with brewing and mining as its industries. If the 7.2 map expands deeper into eastern Snezhnaya, Novokitezhgrad and its surrounding area are the most natural landing spot. This also gives Noy's appearance geographical plausibility: a city where Fae gather is exactly right for bringing in a red-haired Fae character.

Genshin Version 7.2 New Map

According to leaks, Version 7.2 will definitely release the new 5-star Mitya and the new 4-star Valeriy. As for the rerun 5-star characters, current information points to Furina, Zibai and Linnea; for the final banner, please refer to the official announcement in the preview livestream.

New Genshin Merchandise

This batch of new merchandise will be released in late October. Although the official side has not announced the specific new items yet, from experience, Flins apparel is very likely to appear — on one hand, the update pace of Genshin apparel has always been steady, and Wriothesley apparel as well as Citlali's and Neuvillette's pajamas were also released in late October before; on the other hand, October 31 happens to be Flins's birthday, so with a double buff, the chances of new apparel are very high. In addition, the Nahida Nendoroid that appeared at the WF convention earlier, as well as Snezhnaya themed merchandise, are also very likely to be released at the same time. Travelers can look forward to it.

That is all for this roundup of the details and leaks from the 7.2 preview poster. Let us look forward together to the preview livestream on October 23!
