Genshin Impact Version Luna II Main Storyline Content Summary

by Genshin Fans 25 Oct 2025

Hello, Travelers! Nod-Krai truly lives up to being a story-consolidating version. It not only supplements past storylines but also brings various settings that previously appeared in side quests or books into the main story for everyone.

In this issue, let's first take a look at all the key settings and foreshadowing currently present in the main story.

Genshin Impact Version Luna II

1. Genshin Impact Nod-Krai: Related New Foreshadowing and Settings

1.1 "Pillar of Embla" & "Lake Amsvartnir"

In the World Quest of the Luna I version, we met a Frostmoon Scions Priestess named Verna, who believes in science but is not entirely reliable. After completing the quest, dialogue with her reveals that the first Moonchanter, Aila, upon the request of Solovei, the founder of the Lightkeepers organization, traveled to the northern Pillar of Embla to quell a disaster originating from the Abyss. This Abyssal disaster likely refers to the spillover effects of the Khaenri'ah catastrophe in the Nod-Krai region.

Genshin Impact – Verna’s dialogue

In the current storyline, when discussing the Rächer of Solnari absorbing Kuuvahki, it also mentions locations in Nod-Krai rich in Kuuvahki, where the Pillar of Embla is prominently listed. Currently, most areas in Nod-Krai abundant or chaotic with Kuuvahki are related to ancient moon relics. Given that this Pillar of Embla was a severely affected area during the Abyss disaster, perhaps in future versions, we might experience storyline here related to the whereabouts of the monk Rotwang.

Genshin Impact – Flins and Ineffa’s conversation about Kuuvahki

Initially, everyone thought the incident at Lake Amsvartnir was a diversionary tactic by the Rächer of Solnari. Now, it appears to be another disturbance caused by the Abyss. Ineffa, who was responsible for reporting on the situation in this area, did not share her investigation findings with us in the Luna II version. It seems we will have to wait for future versions to fill in this part of the story.

1.2 "The World" is Depriving the Damselette of Her Power

In the storyline, the Damselette states that her power is gradually weakening due to the world's rejection. As the Frost Moon has already been isolated beyond the False Sky, and the authority originally held by the Three Moons to govern the world's cyclical flow has been revoked, the Damselette's power can neither be replenished nor is it being continuously consumed. Similarly, the Iridescent Moon, which fell into the depths of Teyvat, also has its power consumed, ultimately forcing it to merge with the Abyss for survival.

The World is Depriving the Damselette of Her Power

In the character story of Lauma, it is mentioned that the Trinity of Moon Goddesses once coexisted for a time with the laws of Celestia. However, now that the War of the Funerary Flame has concluded, and the Damselette clearly stated in the Luna I version that all three Moon Goddesses perished in that war, the current Heavenly Principles no longer permit a massive source of Kuuvahki to exist in the world, instead employing various methods to absorb its power.

Lauma's Story

Although the Lunaglyph operates using Kuuvahki, similar to how a Vision uses the soul as its driving material, it is an "external magical focus" that anchors itself through wishes to mobilize Kuuvahki. The deprivation of the Damselette's power does not conflict with the Lunaglyph's ability to function under the Heavenly Principles.

1.3 Northern Intelligence Network

Diluc's character story mentions that while investigating the Delusion, he was rescued by the Northern Intelligence Network and consequently joined this organization. Through his talent and ability, he rose to the organization's upper echelons.

Diluc's character story

Nefer is the current leader of the Northern Intelligence Network, handling countless pieces of intelligence. Later, before Varka proposed the final battle and asked if anyone wished to withdraw, Nefer and he even discussed Diluc. Oh, no - during work, address by title; it should be "Noctua".

1.4 The Mysterious Helper

When the Rächer of Solnari attempted to absorb the Kuuvahki cannon during the events of Luna I, Ineffa struggled to shift the cannon's position because the splash damage that hit Hiisi Island was blocked by a mysterious barrier.

Ineffa

Previously, the Damselette only stated that she was not the one who created that barrier. This storyline connects the incident of blocking the cannon blast with assisting the Traveler in investigating the Wild Hunt archives, discussing both matters together. We previously speculated that these two events were secretly aided by the witch Nicole Reeyn, as she enjoys guiding people when they are lost, and being a remnant of an angelic race, her power is certainly formidable.

Most crucially, in the "Moonlit Ballad of the Night," she makes her appearance on Hiisi Island, and her energy seems similar to this pale yellow barrier. Let us look forward to her future performance.

Nicole Reeyn

1.5 The Remaining Harbingers

According to the Tsaritsa's decree, all Harbingers have assembled in Nod-Krai. However, according to the Marionette, the Knave, the Rooster, and the Regrator have already returned first. Only two Harbingers remain in Nod-Krai: one is herself, and the remaining one is naturally the target of the Balladeer's reckoning-the Doctor.

Dottore Genshin

At the end of the Natlan main storyline, Mavuika informs us about the Doctor's actions. In the Doctor's personal plans, creating a god was merely a small experiment; he aims to achieve much more. In future versions, we will inevitably confront him directly.

2. Genshin Impact Khaenri'ah: Supplementary Details

An important function of this storyline is to further supplement the details about the settings of Khaenri'ah, the betrayal of The Five Sinners, and the fall of Irmin. When these details are viewed together, they indeed confirm the saying: everyone told a small lie, and in the end, it became irreparable.

First, a detail about daily life: Khaenri'ah relied on importing grains, possibly because being located underground and lacking sufficient light, their diet primarily consisted of meat and mushrooms. This also corroborates what is stated in Albedo's Character Story 5: due to the scarcity of natural species in Khaenri'ah, alchemy placed greater emphasis on the branch of "creating life."

As one of the four pillars of the kingdom of Khaenri'ah, alchemy was theoretically the key to overcoming resource scarcity. However, after Irmin wholeheartedly pursued the Abyss, powers related to the Abyss, the cosmos, and other forces beyond this world saw significant development.

In the underground workshop guarded by the Schwanenritter in Sumeru, a letter from a subordinate to the regent Marshal Anfortas mentioned that it was through contact with the Abyss that the four pillars of the kingdom achieved great prosperity. After the energy supply for the mechanisms changed from a "battery" that stored a small amount of ley line energy to a chaotic core that could endlessly assimilate the surrounding ley line energy, the design of Khaenri'ah's mechanisms increasingly disregarded load considerations. But whether it was mechanics or alchemy, they only improved daily life, far from reaching the mysteries of the demonic heavens that Irmin pursued.

The main research direction of the Mysterious Institute, also one of the four pillars of the kingdom, currently appears to be studying the Abyss and all things that interest His Majesty. They achieved many accomplishments, such as observing the twin Travelers captured by gravity; the arrival of the opposite master in Khaenri'ah certainly involved their efforts.

The Wise Hroptatyr, as the director of the Deep Enigma Institute, was highly favored by Irmin and was selected as the Chief Royal Mage. In the storyline, the deputy director Dhabit expressed great envy towards Hroptatyr, remarking that if not for Irmin's radical nature, the young Hroptatyr would not have been chosen as chief. So, who was the one advanced in years yet still unrecognized?

The Royal Mage who was neither young nor entrusted with significant duties can reasonably be speculated to be the Fatui's overseer, The Jester. He was a court mage of Khaenri'ah and once lived alongside the antagonist protagonist. This was revealed in the Sumeru Interlude chapter by the Balladeer before he altered the Irminsul, and his discontent is recorded in the Pale Flame artifact set.

The Jester

Irmin was deeply engrossed in Abyssal research, which Hroptatyr deemed radical, while Rerir stated he never considered gentle strategies. The Eclipse Dynasty of Khaenri'ah overthrew the Crimson Moon Dynasty. A significant amount of time had passed between Irmin and the Crimson Moon, and his theoretical research obsession would unlikely make him overly concerned with the remnants of the Crimson Moon plotting rebellion, especially since the Crimson Moon faction was already weakened. The key point is that the more Irmin researched the Abyss, the clearer he understood the truth of the former Crimson Moon Dynasty and the more he sought to uncover its secrets related to the Abyss. Therefore, even though the dynasty had long fallen, he still pursued the remnants of the Crimson Moon.

It must be clarified that the Crimson Moon is the result of the Iridescent Moon, one of the three moons, shattering, falling into Teyvat, and merging with the Abyss to sustain its own life. The Knave also speculated that perhaps the people of Khaenri'ah were not devout worshippers of the moon but were rather coveting the Abyss within it. The dynasty's shift from the Crimson Moon to the Eclipse might indicate the discovery of a more efficient method to directly contact the Abyss.

Returning to the topic of Khaenri'ah, it is therefore no coincidence that Tholindis, who possesses Crimson Moon lineage, was assigned to research the Crimson Moon space while a large number of personnel from the Mysterious Institute were diverted to study the Abyss. This was done to extract her last remaining value.

If the research yielded no progress, Tholindis would ultimately have been placed on the list of remnants of the Crimson Moon to be purged. As for those existences deemed worthless, most had already been eliminated long ago. Caught between the truth of her fiancé's identity and the conflict with her own origins, Tholindis endured immense torment. Whether her subsequent thoughts regarding the research were influenced by the Abyss's temptation remains unrevealed in the current storyline.

However, judging from the experiences of others who have been tempted by the Abyss, it never tempts people with its true form. It transforms into the inner demons that haunt your heart, interfering with your thoughts when you are most irritable or emotionally vulnerable, much like whispers in the ear. For Rerir, the whispers of the Abyss manifested externally as the voice of Vedrfolnir. Vedrfolnir, another sinner who ultimately parted ways with the power of the Abyss, also heard whispers in his ear and became relieved after comprehending the truth.

In the main storyline "Caribert," we heard Vedrfolnir's voice from the inverted statue, and he mentioned he would look back upon all we have done at the end of time. Whether this will become proof that "Vedrfolnir will ultimately become an agent of the Abyss," or whether the two matters are unrelated and the Abyss merely mimics the form that most effectively provokes the target's emotions and desires, remains inconclusive.

Continuing with Tholindis's research, Moon Marrow itself can serve as a spatial gate leading to a mysterious space behind it. However, maintaining the spatial gate requires continuous infusion of powerful energy. When we traveled to the Crimson Moon space, it was The Knave who maintained the gate; when expelling the Rächer of Solnari, it was Dainsleif who maintained it; and at the moment when the Rächer of Solnari saw Tholindis for the last time, an anomaly of Abyssal energy erupted throughout Khaenri'ah.

Tholindis Genshin

However, the outcomes for the observation subjects Tholindis previously sent into the spatial gate seemed rather unfortunate. After the Rächer of Solnari leaped into it and reappeared in Teyvat, he was already in fragments.

The Rächer of Solnari is closely linked to the expansion of the Wild Hunt disaster in Nod-Krai. There are also rumors that the initial form of the Wild Hunt was female. The connection between these facts and Tholindis and the Rächer of Solnari both leaping into the mysterious space still awaits official confirmation. Currently, we can only speculate simply: originally, the Three Moons were responsible for the cyclical flow of the world, which is also the prototype of the current Ley Line abilities. The Wild Hunt exhibiting their characteristics is also a classic manifestation of the Ley Lines. There must be a connection between the spatial gate and the principles/responsibilities/authority of the Ley Lines.

3. Recovery of Other Existing Plot Settings and Foreshadowing

3.1 Supplier of "Lord Sangemah Bay"

The current main storyline has incorporated many settings that were previously absent from the main plot but are highly important. It can be said to be a spoon-fed approach that brings out many detailed callbacks. First, let's discuss a setting related to the soon-to-appear Alice: she is Dori's supplier. This information has actually been around for a long time, so long that initially everyone only knew Alice was remarkable, but didn't realize just how remarkable she was.

Genshin Alice

After the Hexenzirkel's setting was formally introduced in the Version 3.5 storyline, Alice had already revealed her identity as a supplier in the synopsis of the PV "Teegesellschaft of the Hexenzirkel" at that time.

3.2 Two Worlds Aflame and "Perinheri"

In the current storyline, through the words of The Knave, the content of the book "Perinheri" is essentially recounted verbatim. The tradition of the people of Khaenri'ah picking up beings from outside the world and placing their hopes on these external entities has existed for a long time. Their lack of belief in gods, combined with their location underground, made it inherently difficult for this land to establish itself in Teyvat solely through human brilliance. Seeking help from mysterious external beings was, to some extent, understandable.

In the storyline, while passing through the passageway of the lunar space, there were indeed temptations from the Abyss. The Abyss even stated it had no right to interfere with a Descender. Given that the Three Moons exist outside Teyvat, that Teyvat is enveloped by an eggshell-like barrier, and that the universe outside is filled with a dark calamity, it seems quite logical that one would encounter the Abyss on the journey from Teyvat to the space of the Three Moons.

3.3 The Marionette and the Narzissenkreuz

The similarities between the Marionette and Mary-Ann were pointed out very early, and have finally been officially confirmed in this version. For stories related to the Narzissenkreuz, Alain Guillotin, and Rene, you can refer to the texts I compiled earlier, which strive to cover all the details from the in-game texts.

Marionette Genshin

In the past events narrated by the Marionette, the line "In the Narzissenkreuz Institute, there must always be someone who reaches the end in human form" clarifies the Marionette's identity. The fact that these stories were told to her by The Knave also suggests that she likely did not stay with Alain until the very end, or perhaps lost the stored records for some reason. "After personally stopping the first wave stirred up by Rene, Alain Guillotin also lost his friends and family."

4. Newly Born Frost Moon Goddess

In the "Moonlit Ballad of the Night," the names corresponding to the letters in Alice's hand are Aria, Sonnet, and Canon-the names of the three Moon Goddesses. These names had already appeared in the book "Heart's Desire" from the game's initial release version.

In the main storyline of the Luna I version, the Damselette explicitly stated that the name of the Eternal Moon Goddess is Aria, confirming that these three names are likely not fabricated. However, in the current storyline, whom is the Iridescent Moon calling to? Could it be the name corresponding to the newly born Frost Moon Goddess, or does it refer to something else? The dialogue, "What kind of resolution did you have when you came to us? If only I could be as brave as you," is truly thought-provoking.

It also makes one wonder whether the Damselette's current birth and her guidance of the remnants of the Golden Realm as a Frostmoon Scion are part of the cycle described in the Deep Gallery's Lost Crown set, where the Three Moons witnessed the betrayal of angels and travelers within the Golden Realm.

That concludes all the content of this issue. Judging by the word count, this storyline is truly packed with substantial content. In fact, I haven't even covered everything, such as the small, well-executed details in Lynette's talents that make players smile knowingly. In any case, we are increasingly looking forward to the subsequent storyline narration. See you next time!
